How to Draw a Labrador Retriever
Step 1
Start by drawing a dot.
This will be the eye for our dog.
Step 2
Draw a line in the shape of an upside-down "u" above the eye.
This is the top of our dog's head.
Step 3
Next, draw the top part of our dog's snout.
Step 4
At the end of line you just drew, you will add our dog's nose.
Step 5
From here, you'll draw a line going down then curving back towards our dog's eye.
This will be the top part of our dog's mouth.
Step 6
Now draw the bottom part of our dog's mouth.
Step 7
After that, draw a line from the mouth curving downward.
This will be our dog's neck.
Step 8
Then, we'll draw our dog's ear.
Start by drawing a line from the top of the head then going a little bit around then the head, and finally curving back to the eye.
Step 9
The ear will cover the top part of our dog's head, so let's erase the line.
The drawing of our dog's ear should look like it is on top of the head.
Step 10
This step is optional, but if you want to draw a more realistic dog you can draw a y-shaped line on our dog's ear.
As you can see in the image, this line helps make the ear look like it's folding over itself.
Step 11
Next, draw a small triangle-shaped line on top of our dog's head and in front of the ear we drew before.
This is our dog's other ear.
Step 12
Draw a line that curves downward from the ear.
This line shouldn't be too long.
This line is the back of our dog's neck.
Step 13
From there, we'll draw our dog's back.
The line starts from the base of the neck and goes to the right.
Step 14
Then we'll draw a line from the front of our dog's neck downward.
Step 15
Let's move on to draw our dog's butt.
It's a simple line that curves downward from our dog's back.
Step 16
Now we're ready to draw our dog's leg.
Draw a line that curves like the letter "s" for the front line of our dog's forward leg.
Step 17
Draw the backline of the leg.
Step 18
Draw the paw of the foot.
Step 19
Draw the front line of the back leg.

Step 24
Add the final back leg of our dog.
Step 25
Complete the step by step dog drawing by adding the tail to our Labrador Retriever!
Step 26 (Optional)
You can add color to our dog.
Feel free to choose any color you imagine.
I chose to go with the color of a Labrador Retriever.

Step 2

Step 5
Let's draw the snout.
Step 6
After drawing the snout, we'll draw our dog's nose.
Step 7
From there, we'll draw a line that curves downward for our dog's upper lip.
Step 8
Next, we'll draw the bottom part of our dog's mouth.
Step 9
Then, we'll draw a line that starts under the mouth and below the eye.
This line should curve like a reversed s-shaped line.
This will be our dog's next and chest area.
Step 10
We'll move on to drawing our dog's leg.
Draw a line that goes down.
Notice how the line has a zigzag shape towards the bottom.
This is to indicate the bend in our dog's leg.
Step 11
After that, we'll draw the line for the back part of our dog's front leg.
Keep in mind that this line repeats that zigzag shape from the previous step.
Step 12
Let's draw our German Shepherd's paw.
Step 13
Now it's time to draw the other front leg.
This line is the back part of the leg.
Step 14
The next line will be the front part of our dog's leg.
Step 15
Let's finish the leg by drawing our dog's paw.
Step 16
Next, we'll draw a line that starts from the back our dog's head and curves downward to our dog's butt.
Step 17
Then, we'll draw a line that goes inward to the body.
This line will be part of our dog's hind legs.
Step 18
Now we'll draw the first hind leg of our dog.
Step 19
From there, we'll draw and line that curves upward.
This line is the knee for our dog's leg.
Step 20
We'll move on to draw the last hind knee of our dog.
Step 21
The only thing left for our dog's leg is to draw the last leg and paw.
Step 22

Step 25
After that, we'll add black spots on the lower part of our dog's body.
Step 26
Fill in our dog's tail with black.
Step 27
Finally, add some black spots to our dog's paws and we are done!
We now have a dog that looks like a real German Shepherd.
Step 28 (Optional)
Feel free to add some color to your German Shepherd drawing.
How to draw a French Bulldog
Step 1
Start by drawing two dots for the eyes.
Step 2
Next, draw a line in the shape of an upside-down bowl for the head of our French Bulldog.
Step 3
Then, draw a line that curves down and comes back up towards the eyes.
Step 4
Redraw a similar line but for the right side of our dog's face.
Step 5
After that, draw a small curve that connects the left and right sides of the face.
Our dog's head is pretty much complete.
Notice how the eyes are about 1/3 of the way from the top of our dog's head.
Step 6
Draw a line from the bottom of the left side of the face towards the eye.
Once the line reaches the left eye, notice how it curves inward towards the right eye.
Step 7
Repeat the previous process but for the right side of our dog's face.
Step 8
Draw comma-shaped black spots for our dog's nostrils.
The nostrils should be about halfway down the face.
Step 9
Draw a line below the nostrils and in between the two nostrils.
Step 10
Draw an upside-down J-shaped line from the bottom of the line we drew in the previous process to our dog's jawline.
Step 11
Repeat the previous process for the other side of the face.
This will complete our dog's mouth.
Step 12
Next, draw an upside-down U for our dog's left ear.
The ear should be about half the size of our dog's face.
Step 13
Repeat the previous process for our dog's right ear.
Step 14
Draw another U-shaped line on the inside of our dog's left ear.
Step 15
Again, repeat the same process for the right ear.
Step 16
Add in a J-shaped line for the left brow and then the right brow.
This helps add more of a bulldog expression to our dog's face.
Step 17
French Bulldogs have some fat that makes them look cute.
Next, we'll draw some lines to show our dog's neck fat.
Draw a curved line that starts from the right ear and curves downward and goes around our dog's face to the left side of our dog's mouth.
Step 18
Draw another line as we did in the previous process but this time under the neck fat we drew before.
Step 19
Then, we'll draw our dog's back.
Draw a line that has some curves to it to give more of a realistic but cute bulldog vibe.
Step 20
Continue drawing the line for our dog's back.
The line for our dog's back should be about 2.5 to 3 heads long.
Step 21
Start drawing a line that curves downward.
This will be our dog's butt.
Step 22
Next, we'll draw a short leg.
Step 23
Then, we'll draw a curved line for our dog's upper leg.
Step 24
After that, we'll draw a line for the belly of our dog.
Step 25
Now, we'll draw our dog's front leg that's closest to us.
Draw a line that starts from inside the body and goes outward to the left.
Step 26
Draw a curved line for the top part of our dog's front leg.
Step 27
Draw the paw.
This completes our first leg for our dog.
Step 28
Start drawing the top part of our dog's other front leg that is further away from us.
Step 29
Draw in the last paw.
Step 30
Our dog is done but now we can add some optional details to help give our dog more cuteness.
Let's add in another curved line on the bottom of our dog's belly to help show some extra fat on our bulldog.
Step 31
Let's draw another curved line around our dog's shoulder.
Step 32
We'll finish this by adding some extra wrinkle lines on our dog's front leg.
That's it! Now we have our very own cute chubby French Bulldog.
Step 33 (Optional)
Feel free to add color to your French Bulldog.
I went with normal colors for our dog, but you can choose any colors you want.
I hope this article helped you be able to draw a dog better.
